A CRITICAL NEED IN NEVADA

A Challenge to CEO’s in Las Vegas and NationwideDr. David Steinberg, CEO, Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging through his work with American Cancer Society’s CEO’s Against Cancer has been learning about a specific need of cancer patients across the state. CEO’s Against Cancer Nevada chapter and Dr. Steinberg are committed to helping ACS fulfill a critical need in Nevada. Access to Care is a program available to cancer patients that provides rides to treatment and hotel accommodations to those traveling in from outlying areas.These two patient programs need our assistance, transportation and lodging needs in Nevada are significant:

• 45% of rides needed to get to lifesaving treatments go unmet in Clark county with a total of 92% of requested rides not being provided across the state
• 25% of patient requests for lodging near their treatment centers are unfulfilled; with a total of 40% of rooms nights not being met for the entire state

In 2017, nearly 2,000 patients did not receive potentially life-saving treatment as a result.In support of this crucial need Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging teamed up with American Cancer Society to produce a video that tells the stories of these patients, how these services saved their lives and what would happen if their requests went unmet like 2,000 others.Dr. Steinberg has challenged the local Las Vegas CEO’s to get behind this mission and secure funding for rides and hotel accommodations to fulfill 100% of requests in 2018.  Follow the journey on Social Media at facebook.com/sdmilv as we post updates on the fundraising efforts.
